FILTHY DIRTY ROGUE - GHOST - Rift - Planes of Telara - Beta #4 - Assassin World PvP & Warfronts

Recorded during Rift closed beta #4 (Jan. 7th -10th, 2011) ~ Souls: Assassin/Blade Dancer/Riftstalker - eventually I replaced Blade Dancer with Infiltrator (PvP soul) but about 90% of footage is without it.

Video Fight Totals:
-9 fights against higher level opponents.
-5 fights against equal level opponents.
-6 fights against lower level opponents. (two of those are only one level lower then me, one of those fights is against four opponents)

To answer some of the questions and statements in that thread:

1/ Nobody is AFK. I open with a stun, apply combo points and a snare during that stun and then I stun them again....by the time this sequence is over you will notice them then try to get away. Nobody is AFK...it is called an effective opening sequence. When somebody is truly AFK in this game they gain the AFK attachment to their name. Nobody in this video shows this attached to their name. Mostly the players are stopped because I stalked them for sometimes up to two minutes waiting for them to stop for a second so I could get into range and incapacitate them. Do you really want to watch a video where I follow somebody for 2 minutes until they finally stop so I can get in melee range?

2/ 90% of the fights are against opponents equal level or higher level then me. The video is 10 minutes long though so YES there is some filler where I kill lowbies or gank but that was to reaffirm the "FILTHY DIRTY" part. However, MOST of the video is actually equal level fights or they are higher level then me.

3/ I don't click or keyboard turn. If you watch on youtube in high definition you can see that ALL of my skills are keybound to hotkeys. Also, I use a precision laser mouse for turning. I would like to see a keyboard turner with the mobility I show while camera shifting in this video.

4/ My gear is at the end of the video. I was still using a blue level 17 dagger even up to level 26 and the rest is just quest greens that were accessible to anyone. There is nothing to write home about in regards to my gear. I didn't spend my limited beta time farming instances or getting rep for gear...I spent my time mostly PvPing. I only had a total of about 8-10 hours of playtime during beta #4 so I actually fell behind most players in regards to gear due to that.

5/ I didn't include many deaths because as you can see I filled a 10 minute video of fights that I won. Fact is, I killed a lot & I died a lot. This is the way PvP goes. However, it was hard squeezing in all of that footage into 10 minutes. I didn't want to waste a few of those minutes showing fights I lost. I could comprise another full 10 minutes of footage showing where I died a lot and ganked even lower level players while they were fighting mobs but how entertaining would that be? This video was meant to show what rogues are capable of and that we can succeed if played properly. I am not saying rogues are entirely fine...but we are not as bad off as some would say. The people saying melee rogues are "beyond broken" are exaggerating.

@dunleen It was achieved when you got to level 15 without a single death during beta 1-4. Unfortunately I think they removed the title entirely as it had disappeared from my titles section when I logged in to beta 5.

@lealj2498 wow runs a lot better and has a higher frame rate. I have a mid to high end computer and I have to play on medium otherwise you run at about 20fps

i would buy these games like WOW or RIFT (rift seems more interesting to me) but i am unsure whether it would play well or lagg badly and crash. when i USED to play runescape i hardly lag except when im at popular spots (exceeding 35-50 ppl) my computer has 6gb ram and its not particularly for games. please help i dont want to waste my money on RIFT or WOW.

So what if Rift is a copy of wow?? I stop playing wow when cata was released because it sucks. I'm going to start to play Rift now. I have tried it out and I really like it. I think you who thinks it looks bad should try it. it's ALOT like wow, but still some changes.

Every game is different, i find it very nice that there is finally a competitor to you precious WoW.

Rift looks way better, and there are more differences.

When games 'steal' from each other it'll improve both games because they'll have to fight for their players, so your comment is totally useless.
