GLORIA JEAN - A Tribute to a Beautiful Soprano - Ochi Chernie Dark Eyes

My Slide Show tribute to the 1930's-40's child star, Gloria Jean. She has the voice of an angel - and the heart of one as well. She is one of my favorite Hollywood stars! She lives a quiet life in Hawaii - she even has her own website! Enjoy my many hours of hard work! I love her pure and angelic version of "Ochi Chernie", Black Eyes (Dark Eyes) a traditional Russian Folksong.

Gloria Jean mad a series of teenage musicals with Donald O'Connor and Peggy Ryan. I never see them mentioned. Sanyone know if they are available on line? NC

Yes she made several films with Donald O'Connor. They are available on Gloria's website...do a search for Gloria Jean Schoonover (her full name). Also you can find these on Ebay once in a while.

I am not American, and I don't live in America. But the old America, its spirit and what its people dreamed of captured in the good old movies that I love made me wish (when I was growing up) that I lived in another time and place. 30 years on, I may not wish that any longer, but I miss feeling all that. What is churned out just can't match the golden age. Thank goodness for video efforts like this and all the gems we find on youtube!

I agree, Gloria has the voice of an angel!, so delicate, and so pleasant to listen to....purchaced IF I HAD MY WAY,and was so taken by her beauty , charm, and voice, incorporated into her fine acting, which did so much for the picture............whats the whole story behind her exit from entertainment?
