Back on the 08/09 Christmas Holidays, I made a visit to Binksie Services for a few hours late one Friday afternoon. The main reason for the visit was to get some footage of the brand new Heil Euro PowerTrak sitting outside the workshop. However on top of that, this hook-lift which was almost completed for Remondis, was also present.
The hook-lift frame featured on this truck is made by PALIFT Container Handling Systems, a division of Palfinger. This particular frame falls into their "Telescopic" model category, having a 20-25t lift capacity. The chassis the frame is mounted on is a Merc Actros. In the video, you get to see each of the functions found on a hook-lift in operation, and also a small set of pictures I gathered that afternoon. It is cool to see all the different systems that can be incorporated into this type of machine.
Hope you enjoy this action, please rate and comment. Also thanks very much to the operator and my mate that made this possible.
hey mitch, late comment by far but sorry haha.
the new merc actros hooky we have here is a BoB Hooklift haha, apparently Binksie are a bit slow when it comes to maintenance and all that stuff so there not getting Heil's anymore because its too much trouble.

@laserkeyboard Oh that's a bit of a shame, but at least the trucks are already out there for us to video =] So no more Heils or PALIFTs eh? I wonder which RL / SL bodies they'll be going with instead.
