@jcasslove are mumblecore fans usually pretentious?
-
yeah you do whine a lot

I don't agree that mumblecore films ignore the rules of screenwriting. Maybe some do, but Bujalski's films actually have very well crafted structures that demonstrate many of the basic "rules" discussed by people like Syd Field and Blake Snyder.

I am starting as a stand-up comic. I have my own style with loads of sarcasm and improv. These types of movies would never be something any of my friends would expect to see me in but I have been watching clips all afternoon and I'm in love. Someday I'll be in one and I guarantee it won't be boring.

mumblecore is for people who are boring and lifeless, i respect film but not boring people

I've watched tons of Mumblecore films and I am a fan. it's really genuine and sincere to me.
Did that girl just read a C-plus essay off a computer monitor and post it on youtube? I hope no mumblecore installments ensue.....oh jesus.

C'mon, get over it. If you love filmmaking, don't whine about it and start churning out the films in your head, regardless of who's watching; regardless of the genre. Don't explain how you think the system works. These personal theories are boring. Just fucking do it and prove the world wrong.
