Protect Our Dolphins

WDCS is launching an urgent campaign in response to the UK government's announcement that it is likely to grant permission for oil and gas exploration inside the Special Area of Conservation in the Moray Firth. The SAC was set up to protect the Firth's endangered resident population of Bottlenose dolphins, who could be driven to extinction by this move. (SAC area illustration amended.)

The UK government has announced that is likely to grant an oil exploration license inside the Moray Firth Special Area of Conservation (SAC). If granted, this could not only spell disaster for the Moray Firth dolphins, but could lead to other SACs being exploited in a similar manner. We must prevent this from happening, or valuable bio-diversity will be lost. Extinction is forever.

This would be an catastorphe for the dolphins other marine life, and the marine enviroment if this project was to go through.

We must do all we can to prevent the government from taking back their promise of keeping this area safe.
