Darwin was a devout Christian when he wrote Origin of Species. Darwin firmly believed in Intelligent Creation. In his own words, the Origin of Species is not about creation but proliferation of species. How shameful it is use believer's book to assert argument against creation. If there is any kind of debate, ToE should be asserted to argument ToNE.

@automatewithkorn
darwin's work had nothing whatsoever to do with the religious drivel now called "intelligent design". you try to link the two because you're a fool or dishonest or both. his theory is descriptive and has nothing at all to do with eugenics or hitler.
no, the numerous authors are hard working scientists doing important research in life science....perhaps you could devote some of your time to reading them rather than making an utter fool of yourself here.

@mcmanustony Charles Darwin would turn in his grave if he were to find out that atheists used work of a believer in Intelligent Design. This is no different from Eugenics movement in the early 1900s citing Darwin's theory as basis for forbidding social services to blacks and jews. (pics) Then Adolf cited America's Eugenics to gas 500,000 handicapped and later millions of jews. Perhaps your numerous authors is what current Eugenicists use to justify movement in the 21st century.

@automatewithkorn atheists and theists alike do nothing of the kind. there is no evidence whatsoever for intelligent design and overwhelming mountains for evolution. our understanding of the subject today comes not from darwin, though he was largely correct, but from areas of science that simply did not exist in his day
" atheists should pick another author'- get a clue. there are tens of thousands of authors whose work makes up the subject, some atheists some not. you've been told this before

@mcmanustony Isn't it ironic Atheists take a book from a believer in Intelligent Design to argue against Intelligent Design? How stupid is that? Perhaps you and the other atheists should pick another author??

@mcmanustony Thank you for your reply. What took you so long? Here is what I wanted to share with you and all the other atheists out there, misguided by Darwin's book without study Darwin himself. "Now, there appears to be a common misconception regarding the religious views of Charles Darwin. First of all, Darwin was never an atheist.
In his Autobiography,
Darwin says he was a theist by the time he wrote "Origin of Species" and that he believed in an intelligent first cause. "

@automatewithkorn
ok, let's leave it as the incoherent gibberish you first posted then.
By the way, Darwin's father was a doctor and financier.
you're not very good at this.

@mcmanustony I didn't think so.
