my opinion the game probably exists in some form, a playable version of shenmue on the saga Saturn can you imagine what its like

if sega just released this title in 1999 for saturn... they would simply riped off PS1, look at the graphics, this is a 32 bit console... you will not fine a game of this deep to PS1 not a chance... only a ps2 game can beat this.. and i read that the Saturn version was 8 discs and it was beta incompleted, so this game was massive, it was during 10 years the most expensive title ever, this was actually what bankropt SEGA and make them leave dreamcast, because it was impossible to make profit with

Wow, if only Sega got their marketing up to scratch, and never released the 32X (the upgrade straw that broke the camels back), then maybe they would not have to created the dreamcast so quickly. and this (shenMue) would have made it to the Saturn, along with VF4, Street fighter 3, Resident evil 2-3, Marvel vs Capcom, maybe even company's like Namco would have jumped on board the sega ship (4mb ram cart Tekken tag anyone?). Plus you would have seen a lot more STV arcade games.

Have you seen some of the early saturn footage of shenmue 2? Just unreal for a system that old.

I'm fascinated by the shenmue 2 saturn footage. While shenmue 1 looks really great on the saturn, the detail on 2 is absurd for a system that old.

I often wonder how the game would run on the saturn if it had been polished. Obviously shenmue would push the system to the max, but with all those buildings, weather effects, and so many little details, could they have gotten it up to 30 FPS? Thoughts?

@SlashingThunder - I did look at it like that. I shunned the PS2 and bought an Xbox, largely because of Panzer Dragoon Orta too. I own both an Xbox 360 and PS3 now though, and in all honesty prefer the PS3. Think I have finally managed to forgive Sony, lol.
