Zack Snyder is quickly becoming the cinematic equivalent of eggnog. Every year, it seems, someone insists we swallow his flicks because they're spiked — with special effects and dubious pecs. But what about the textual train wrecks? The questionable ingredients? What about... WATCHMEN? Egads. The CGI extravaganza doesn't go down easy. When you think about it, eggnog is nothing more than bottled batter, and yet those adults begging you to guzzle the glog are the same folks who chide children for licking the brownie bowl. Similarly, the viewers who laud Snyder's latest epic misinterpret length as meaning — apparently, MTV's Kurt Loder is a serious size queen — will still lambaste a great doc like INTO GREAT SILENCE simply for its scope. So, go see WATCHMEN, if you feel the obligation. Then, draw your own conclusions. Share them on this blog. Smart and/or funny insights may win prizes. And, compare notes with my take, voiced in the video blog below.

Watchmen movie was a huge disappointment, the novel was so much better.
