  • god damn what a hit

  • @Flyersfan1975

    Who, the Flyers? I agree. They barely made the playoffs.

  • Well, the Flyers not only took the season series from the Sabres, but swept them as well. I think that's the first time since the 2000-01 season that the Flyers have swept the Sabres.

    The Sabres just need a top flight center and they'll be fine. They're a talented team that just needs another center and some leadership. Another defenseman wouldn't hurt either.

  • yea looks like flyers hand the sabers there ass last nite flyers always have and always will be the better team dick heads

  • Finally, while I will agree that Lindy Ruff is the best coach in the league, Darcy Reiger is no Paul Holmgren. Especially given that the Sabres have let Briere, Drury, Grier, Campbell(no choice really), and Dumont, go since the summer of 2005. Holmgren, meanwhile, took the Flyers from dead last in the league to a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals, through bold and astute moves, and proper free agent spending. He overpaid for Briere and Hartnell, but that's what happens in the NHL now, w/Cap

  • Briere, Hartnell, Lupul, Richards, Carter, and Knuble are all 20+ goal scorers, with Briere having 30+. Gagne is a 40-goal scorer also...and while having one the deepest lineups down the middle, they also have the deepest set of wingers in the NHL. Their offense is the most balanced in the league(only the Pens have a better 1-2 punch down the middle). And the best part is that the names above, excluding Briere/Knuble, are 26 and under. Gagne is 29. They need a top 4 defender..Biron=question mark

  • As for the Flyers having slow, big players, that's a thing of the past now...Derian Hatcher and Jason Smith are no longer with the team...Hatcher is on LTIR. The Flyers are gradually converting to speed as well. They have Braydon Coburn, Randy Jones, Steve Eminger, Ossi Vaananen, Kimmo Timonen, and Lasse Kukkonen on D, w/Bryan Berard. Timonen, Coburn, and Berard are great puck-moving defensemen and have offensive flair. K.T. is one of the most underrated D-men and Coburn is an emerging D-man.

  • The Sabres have a great farm system, no doubt. But the Flyers also have studs in their system...James VanRiemsdyke(2nd overall pick from 2007), Claude Giroux(22nd overall in 2006) and he could be rookie of the year this season, if he makes the team...Luca Sbisa is a great defensive prospect for them, as is Ryan Parent. They also have Andreas Nodl, who is most likely a sleeper for the team. Even Steve Downie, despite his antics...he was a first round pick for the Flyers and has alot of potential.

  • Yes both teams are very even all time. But now you have to consider that the Sabres have converted to speed and skill, while the flyers still have size and slow. In the coming years the Sabres will pass them by. Better coaching, better managment, better prospects, huge fan base, no overpaid superstars...thats th Sabres. Better leadership, overpaid superstars...thats the flyers. In my opinion the Sabres are in a good position because they have young talent.

    Toronto=N00Bs, last cup 1969, lol
