Question : Can medications interfere with test results when being tested for Thyroid type issues. Specifically Birth Controls being that they are also a hormone. If I am not taking any necessary for life medications (blood pressure etc) can i stop taking pills before being tested so that I know results are from me and not the result of medication? Is this ever necessary and how long should I be off birth control before being tested if at all?

I have not seen the BCP effect testing for Hashimoto's. The BCP will alter thyroid hormones levels because it increases the protein in the blood that thyroid hormone binds to. Most women need to do a nutritional hormone detox before testing in order to get accurate results.
