first time, I ever saw MF, they were at what was then the Capitol Center in Landover, Maryland. Just to show you how much better the concerts were then...they were on an ensemble concert with 6 OTHER ACTS!!..YEA, I said 6!!...it was them, Slave, Patti LaBelle, Maze, Faze-O, Tower of Power (with Lenny Williams), and New Birth. To this day, it was the best concert I ever attended. And Mother's Finest and Patti LaBelle (who came on after them) turned the place, completely out!!..

Color has little to do with talent. If you learned from drumming heros you did well. Check the pistol from the Motown band The Funk Brothers. No one was better.

Probably the best perfomance I ever seen and my expectations were skyhigh after their legendary live album.I saw them in Stockholm in the 90s - rain was pouring but nobody cared about that because the consert was so outstanding.
