Just a quick demo of my PRS SE Korina with stock pickups doing high-gain tones.
Mostly just playing chords and riffs from current songs I am working on and improvising leads.
The strings aren't heavy enough for the Eb with lowest string dropped to Db tuning, so you might hear some rubbery flub in some parts (made pinch harmonics very difficult).
And my 1 year old boy was lurking around behind the camera so you'll probably hear him in there as well.

The amp is my Peters Gryphon.
The cabs are Lopo 2x12's with Celestion G12H30 Anniversary speakers mixed with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers.
Also switched on my Tech 21 Boost DLA for a small portion of noodling, but the tone is mainly just the guitar and the amp.

Recorded with my Zoom H4n portable recorder.

Enjoy. :-)

  • Isn't that wet reverb awesome? I love mine.

  • @cosmogang

Yes mate, the Tech 21 DLA and the Wet Reverb are two excellent pedals.

The DLA is my goto delay for solos and the Flutter control has a nice effect on clean tones.

The Wet Reverb is an amazingly versatile reverb pedal considering it only has two controls on it.

    Cheers.

  • Sounds pretty much like a good mesa boogie mark with some recto orange looseness thrown in and amazing lead tone. Good job. Maybe an update from peters for the gryphon can bring the aggresiveness of the newer designed gryphon.

  • @81giorikas

    Thanks mate. :-)

Yeah I can hear some qualities of those MESA's in my Gryphon, but overall it has it's own unique thick, throaty, growling, percussive tone going on.

I'm actually trying to sell this 50w model to get a 100w model.

This 50w Gryphon is plenty loud, but I just want the option of being able to run 50w or 100w by pulling power tubes.

It doesn't need any more aggression for my tastes though, the Gryphon is perfect as is IMHO.

  • Great tone & playing!

  • @HOSEHER2

    Thanks man. :-)

  • Are those 2 of the standard 2x12 Lopo cabs? How are they (on their own as 2x12s)? I just ordered one via their black friday sale and don't really know what to expect.

  • isn't the harmonic response AMAZING on this guitar??!

  • Your album is great man!

  • @mami3790 haha thought so ^^ nice taste!

  • nice amp and boost

  • @CorruptedV it is blackwater park :P

  • I want a Zoom H4N

  • Awesome sound. Stock pickups sounded great. Do you will upgrade the pickups?

  • The riff you play at 0:27 is extremely similar to one in a song by Opeth called Blackwater Park :)

    Btw really nice tone!

  • That's a damn fine sounding amp man. Never heard of Peters...
