THE STORY:
A few friends and I decided to go to the rally in Washington D.C. only to discover the roller coaster line at the Metro. I'm telling you, it was insane! Just absolutely crazy! Not as crazy as peanut butter with bacon sandwich, but still nutz! A lady was even hit by a van! Come on maaaaan! I almost decided to ditch the idea of going and bribed my friend (who really wanted to go) for a tray of 60 Chick-fil-A nuggets, promised with the pinky finger oath. He wasn't feeling the pinky finger. With super persuasion skills from his end, we dealt with the crowd and tackled the three hour trip there (which normally takes less than an hour).

By the time we arrived, it was utter CHAOS! Like imagine every person you know on Facebook. Then imagine if each one brought their whole family (cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, dogs, cats, pet iguanas) to an annual family BBQ reunion. Now multiply that by 100 to the gazillionth power! YES...that many people! But thanks to my pals, I was able to capture the candid moments at the rally...in SLOW MOTION...kinda. I didn't have my tripod because it was being held ransom for a copy of DJ Hero. So that meant absolutely no coffee to prevent any jittery hands in order to hold the camera as still as possible. Did I succeed? I say 50% "you're darn tootin'" and 50% "um...yeah...about that...sigh, yikes."

In the end, it wasn't about fear, nor sanity. It wasn't even about the Where's Waldo's, ferocious grizzly bears, or the thousands of tea bag wearing fans. It was just about people getting together from all walks of life and having a good time, simple as that.
