HVRM Derailment

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum suffered a train derailment on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday May 29, 2011 @ 10:38am local time. Steam engine is the Nickle Plate 765 -2-8-4 Berkshire. Host railroad is the Chesapeake & Indiana railroad (CKIN). This video is uploaded with permission for documentation purposes only. There were 3 MINOR injuries only that I am aware of. Location: State Road 8 crossing in La Cross, IN. All principles involved downloaded my camera directly and already have this video. Everyone else the CD's are being burned / mailed today 05-31-2011.

I will add that EVERYONE from the people on the train, railroad, railfans, first responders and local community acted in a respectful, courteous and expeditious manor. A great bunch of people.

Actually, I got the impression in the FRA's opinion, everyone involved did their jobs professionally, expeditiously and no one was seriously injured. The railroad wasn't torn up, equipment was fine and everything was above board. Nothing to see here, please move along. :)
