Daughter was involved in a minor traffic accident. The driver of the truck claimed she was at fault. The DriveCam provided the necessary evidence to get my insurance company (@USAA) and his (@Travelers) to pin liability 100% on the other driver. This saved me my $500 deductible plus unknown future increases for my teen daughter's insurance.

  • He was trying to put the blame on her?? I bet he was trying to pull an insurance scam but thankfully failed.

  • @Mango38 Initially he was trying to say she rear ended his vehicle. In the end the video caused him to reverse his story and take blame for the accident. I don't think it was a scam. Parking on those streets is a little sparse so he saw a space and was trying to quickly park his truck.

  • @sbiller1 did you ask him why he lied?

  • @ms3bani Nope. I never talked to him. I didn't have his phone number.

  • The DriveCam only sends a 10 second snapshot of what happened via cellular phone after an accident or an event that triggers the camera's motion sensor. This could be anything from taking a corner too fast, breaking too hard, or hitting a bump and a higher speed than normal.

  • drive cam sucks when its not used right by your company

  • how much do the dash cam cost

  • Thank god for the camera. That's why I got a dash cam.

  • This girl is so unlucky. Rear ended cause some idiot stopped on an on ramp and now backed into.

  • Clearly the F-150 driver's fault, but some extra caution on the young girls part could have avoided the accident :\

  • If you watch the back of the truck, his brake lights are on, then his backup white lights go on and you can see him moving backwards in relation to the parked car on the right as he hit the car driven by the youngster. From the rear cam, you can see that the girl was not doing anything that would distract her, no cell phone, food, just driving. Great use of drive cam.

  • Dumb people in their raised F150.

  • Blank Stare ! haha
