what programs are you using to do all this?

Dude it's easy, First i plug my bass in the Line-In entry of my computer. Then I use Windows movie maker with the sound setting on Stereo Mix and I just play the song on bass with the midi playing on the computer.

What do you mean, "Line-in"? Is it a special port?

no, well on your sound card you got 3 audio entries: there is microphone, speaker, and a line-in (aux).
