What's the point in haveing a crazy
cult without lots of sex ?
I know it's a grat control divice,
but MY cult will totally different.

@PetiteMouse Sooo, owning slaves, killing those whom don't believe in your God, and slaying the children of the pregnant apostates is "pure?" You are insanely immoral.
-
What a Do nut.

@PetiteMouse Most people make choices based on selfish motives not evil. There are a select few evil people in the world but most people are just selfish. I do not think religion is at the root of all evil but I do think that the thinking involved in having "faith" is damaging to one's ability to reason effectively. That could become a problem.
-
@PetiteMouse i agree with all you said here.

@ultim4t32 My argument is that it is humanity that finds fault in humanity. Give and take any religion out of the mix and you still get people who make choices based on pure evil. I also did make sure to use the word "subjective" because it is impossible to properly accuse or disavow religion of any fault at all when it comes to evil. Despite all this I still stand by my initial statement; it's impossible to say that being religious makes you a corrupt person. ignorant even. Look at Stalin.

@ultim4t32 I agree with you that is ACTUAL evidence, unfortunately the rate is higher because such a huge percentage of the world considers themselves christian (regardless of denomination) there are more religious people than atheists. It has little to do with belief systems and more to do with the individual person. ex: Have you seen how many gang members have cross tattoos? If they lived their lives by the faith they claimed, they wouldn't be in a gang that caused them to go to jail.

@shwaro73 It would be awesome if all people thought as you do. I have friends who share in my faith as well as atheists and those of other faiths. Disagreeing should never lead to hatred nor should we have to be people pleasers in order to maintain friendships. Some demand that others agree with there views, and if you don't, they'll be labeled all sorts of things. They automatically equate disagreeing with hatred.

@55k3v1n Good point. I'm atheist, but I'm inclined to agree with you. It's ultimately extremism / fanaticism that leads to war and suffering, and in turn suffering breeds extremism, which, as you've pointed out, is by no means exclusively a religious phenomena. I like to think the majority of people just want to get along, and live in peace irrespective of their differences in beliefs.
The bald dude never blinks... thats the sign to run away as far as possible.

@clumpft You don't need religion for people to be corrupt and do evil things. The basic philosophy behind Christianity and many other teachings and major religions is pure. Our humanity stains it (look at politics) To think that there is something inherently evil with the Christian belief system because people who claim the title of "Christian" (translating as "christ-like'' the same christ that taught and preached love, peace, and acceptance) In other words, no this is not more reasonable.
