Newsr App Overview on Honeycomb Xoom

Newsr is a warm welcome to the Honeycomb App Lineup. This RSS Reader synchs with your Google Reader and provides a nice means to view your RSS feeds on the Xoom. The other big RSS Reader for the Xoom is Pulse. I used this application heavily however it was a standalone application, it did not synch with Google Reader, and also did not show all the content from the feeds, video would be left out, this was disappointing for me even though Pulse has a very polished look. However Newsr which is not as polished visually has a wonderful RSS viewer which I have no complaints, the images, text, and videos load in the viewer feed. Also the ability to synch with your Reader means you can synch your reading across your devices your watching the news on, something you just couldn't get with Pulse.

also if you use Pulse, you can switch to "web view" and see the site as it was meant to be seen. be fair in your criticisms.

@ndnchief97 I apologize for any misunderstanding. My only criticism for pulse in this video was that it didn't have the synching capability as Newsr does have. I never said pulse didn't have a web view. I didn't go into it because my focus was to go over Newsr. As far on the text view though, Newsr does do a better job at including pictures and videos as I stated in the video. Thank you for posting!

Great review as always, I thank you for taking the time to make these videos. A couple comments though about Pulse. If you go menu>manage sources and hit a + there's a tab for Google reader. Also when you are viewing an article on the upper right there is text or web. Web let's you see the videos and such. Also if you are reading a article from Google reader you can hit menu and star it or mark as unread. Just thought you should know.

@raznalab1 Although Pulse can fetch what feeds you have on Goggle Reader, I'm pretty sure it doesn't synchronize it's state (mainly mark as read). I haven't tried it first hand, but it's what I've read around.

@GortMcTabs I didn't pay attention too much to the syncing between Google Reader (GR) and Pulse until you mentioned it. I did some test and it seems to be syncing just fine. I would go into Pulse, read an article, go into GR and it would show that article as already been read. I tried it the other way and it works just as well. My first post was not meant to take away from Newsr (great app btw), I just wanted to point out some settings in Pulse that were overlooked.

Also developer recently update the app so now you can read the starred articles on Newsr (shown as one of the labels)
