Ya … good point … your probably right about that (when girls offer friendship they feel they have more control of things). But, in real life, it appears to be more of an “a’due” rather than a “hello”. Also, the scenario doesn’t make sense. If the guy was buying the girl dinner, etc. every girl understands there’s a reason for it that’s more than friendship. It sounds more like she panicked with the friend-line, when he started making moves, but she eventually came around?

Excellent strategy - but it will only get the girl some of the time. I’ve been there and it usually means there’s an unknown boyfriend somewhere (or other courtships/courtiers) so she’s not that desperate and/or scared of getting too involved. This girl figured that her options were running out (she’s not exactly Miss America) – that’s my take on it. I can’t help thinking that “true love” would have created a stronger desire on her part.
