It's interesting how Shotokan saves the Okinawan flavor(cat stances, crane hand techniques, etc.) for their more advanced kata. I noticed that Bassai Sho is one of, if not the first SK kata to use cat stance when that is one of the first stances you learn in Okinawan karate. Not putting it down, just an observation.
He combined Tai Chi with Shotokan bits and he created this kat for himself. As we get older we need another form to follow and he has done that, I like the concept and I like the light form and energy needed to stay motivated to do kata.
I want to see the BUNKAI of this Kata!!!
