How to Fix a Broken 360 DVD Drive For Free No Tools Needed

How to fix a 360 with a faulty dvd drive without voiding the warranty and it's free, HIT IT!! When you have a faulty gadget and you look for a solution, 9/10 times some joker will say "have you tried hitting it" or "yell at it". It turns out they might not all be smart arses and are genuinely trying to help. I've been doing this for months now, sometimes it works first time others it can take 5 or ten mins. I play MP BF Bad Company everyday so I have to do this daily and then I end up leaving the console on for hours because it's a pain to have to beat it up if I want to play a game. I had a release core for ages, then I got a free 360 with a phone so I thought it would be a good idea to sell the older console and keep the new one. The new 360 got rrod, m$ fixed it and then the 1 I got back won't read any discs. I don't get any error code or disc read errors, it just doesn't think there's a disc in the tray. M$ won't do anything because it's now over a year old and there's no rrod. I don't know why it works but it does It is definitely not a good idea but it just has to survive a daily kicking until MW2 is out.

I have had the same problem with my xbox for ages and it's got to the point where i sit for hours opening and closing it just to play and some times it won't even work and when it does it just ends up freezing in the end. One question was wil it scratch the disc if i do this when the tray is closed or should i hit it when the tray is open?
