Trainer/Rider Mark Bolender turns in a winning time for his speed run at the 2009 Oregon Horse Center's National Mountain Trail Championships in Eugene. His futurity winning mount, Sir Rugged Checks, came in 3rd in this ride. Mark walked off with an armload of ribbons and awards for his third year in a row at this fun event. Check out Mark's website for training details at Bolender Horse Park in Silver Creek, Washington. And look for his bridle-less ride on this same amazing horse on YouTube.

I've watched this run numerous times...and love the fact that at the end your horse was calm, cool and LICKING! I'll be at the NW Mt Trail Challenge with my yearling mule Stella...hope to meet you! I'd love some advice and insight on desensitizing and introducing new situations to young ones! Good Luck at NWMt Trail Challenge!
