  • So Mate's Der Tod doesn't carry her off....he leaves her and slinks away while the minions pull her into blackness. That's pretty brutal, and VERY different from Pia/Uwe's ending.

  • YOU ROCK :D

  • That was ridiculously good.

  • it would be nice if he did carry her off but the concept of him leaving her to his minions is great too since he love and hate her at the same time.

  • Thank you thank you thank you sooo much for putting up the whole thing with English subtitles. I am going to see this tomorrow, and while I know most of the songs already, I do not speak German fluently, so this has been amazing in helping me to know exactly what is being said and sung so I can enjoy the performance that much more. Again, thank you so much!!

  • Thank you do much for this musical upload !!!!! ^^

  • I used to hate this ending, then an alternate interpretation occurred to me. Who isn't in the prologue? Elisabeth. Why? Because she's not restless, or chained to her life. She found her freedom in the end, she finally was able to be with the being she'd loved her whole life - And in that moment of personal triumph, she finally truly escaped, and her soul moved on.

Looking at it that way, whether it's the intention of the ending or not, it changed it to my favorite ending. :D

  • Thank you so much!

  • I am currently doing a project on the Enlightenment and this really brought into focus the conflict they were talking about with the austrian empire being a driving force behind it all

  • sorry...ran out of room...2 questions...#1 what ever became of her 2nd daughter, the one that did not die, and has this ever been performed in America or England to your knowledge? again THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I know it took a lot of time to do, especially as a college student

  • WOW! just...wow...This was one of the most amazing stories I have ever seen and I don;t know how to tahnk you enough for translating this. I understand German and am able to speak it somewhat, but the subtitles helped enormously. I could not help but admire her strength and yet cursing her for her stubbornness in the desire to be free. I really felt like I was there in 19th cnetury Europe expereincing this story. I really do not know how to thank you enough!!!!! 2 questions

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!! I love this musical, was introduced to it through Takarazuka, but this version is magnificent as well. In any case since I can't speak either Japanese or German I never really had all the details of what was going on. Everything is so much clearer (and more tear-jerking) now.

    Thank you so much!
