We were Indians when Columbus landed. We were Indians when they tried to make slaves out of us. We were Indians when they took our lands. My ancestors were Indians. My grand parents were Indians. My parents were Indians. I am an Indian. Native American was given to us by the same culture that had given us the name Indian. Red Skin at least describes our People when they painted their exposed skin keep away the Sun and bugs. Fred Jack Amikoonsgiyamanitoumahwhingon, Chippewa Elder

I agree with mydneuknat, as a feathers not dot Indian, I don't care what term it is. Haha, of course, there's the terms for us mixed breeds, like my mom (Mexican/Native) as 'Indian Taco' and me (Mexican/Ojibwe/Dakota) as a Chihuahua Choker XD

@mnkriley (Sherman Alexie) "Thesis: I have never met a Native American. Thesis repeated: I have met thousands of Indians"

Indian Voice "Thank Come Again!"
@mnkriley Who cares about specifics, an Amerindian/First Nation/Red Person/Native American made it. That's that.

@mnkriley I am a First Nations woman, and I do not find the term at all offensive. In fact my sister, who still lives on a rez calls them Indian Tacos. Relax the political correctness. Its just food.
