But I already upgraded to Donut just now. Seems like it's going to be hard to root it now ._.

I was paranoid too, but it's actually a lot easier than I thought. If you ever root, it's such a better experience, you'll never want to go back. I can give you a perfect vid tutorial if you decide to root.
And I know what you mean, I didn;t like task killer as well. But advanced task manager actually has an exclude list, so that you can exclude some apps that you don't want to "kill". That's why I like that one a lot better.

I see. I'm too scared/paranoid on rooting/modding my phone lol. I think I'll do it once it starts acting retarded or when it goes over the warrantee
also, I tried advanced task killer. Awesome app. but there really isn't any point because one can easily disable background services from the apps in the first place. I did that for my twitter app.. huge speedup

It's not even close. Cyanogens ROM are so much quicker. My phone never lags or slows down.
If you don't want to root your phone, download an app called advanced task manager. It's well worth the money. It kills your background apps that are running which takes up your phones memory. That will help speed up your phone by a lot.

Is there a noticeable increase in performance when compared to the previous stock rom? I got the stock rom and with time the entire OS becomes slower. I think it's because of background services taking up more and more memory, but I'm not sure.
