Guys...the Perrin & Fils you tasted there is obviously beyond the realm of your palates, even though it is an entry-level rhone...It received a 90 pt rating from all the right people because it has nice fruit on the attack, generous midpalate and a the signature long, graphite finish that characterizes the best of Rhone..all at an incredible QPR. I suggest a retaste and BY GOD decant it for an hour before doing so...Youre way off on this one..

I think any beverage, especially alcohol, is going to taste to like shit after having been sitting out open for three hours. And who drinks warm wine?

A lot of wines will improve after being open for a little while. After being corked up for a while, they interact with the oxygen, and "open up" in many cases. Try it sometime with a wine you like! Also, a lot of people prefer their wine (especially red) around or just below room temp. But, if you like it best cold, drink it cold! Personally, I like good whites and reds just below room temp. -Dan
