Busby Berkeley is at it again. Welcome to Banana Island. Only beautiful women with big bananas and little organ grinders with monkeys live here. Carmen Miranda is the queen and sings an electrifying song about her hat. This was banned in Brazil, and for good reason. This number ran at the Club New Yorker in 1943.

IRREPLACEABLE Carmen Miranda. You may like her, you may not, but please recognize the fact that she was and STILL IS unique. There is no one like her.

@lopesmais You'll hear 'gay' in a lot of old movies--and of course it means to be 'very happy'--originally...was quite a favorite' in' word on H'wood 40's scripts.

I love how she says "No" at 2:14. Lol What a beautiful women, inside and out. I'm doing a research project on her. She was an absolutely amazing woman!!

20th Century-Fox had better Technicolor, wartime musicals than MGM but towards the end of the war that balance did shift over to MGM.
Still, the color art direction in these films is absolutely fantastic by any standard and "The Gang's All Here" is certainly no exception.
