@terracottaheavens linguistic is a more deep and profound study on language but not necessarily a foreign language. But usually a person whose expertise is in that area, they are supposed to speak more than one language

People have a hard to understanding that the "Don't ask, Don't tell," policy is in place for the safety of the soldier. There are reports of gay soldiers being beaten, raped, and killed within the military and more often than not, they weren't open about it, it was found out or suspected.
