  • @NinJaMamasita its not that its that the military is very stricked....they want EVERYONE to be the same...for example if you have to many tattoos you cant join

  • What does it matter if you get the right to say if your gay or not? Regardless there is no sex or relationships allowed!!!!

  • @terracottaheavens linguistic is a more deep and profound study on language but not necessarily a foreign language. But usually a person whose expertise is in that area, they are supposed to speak more than one language

  • People have a hard to understanding that the "Don't ask, Don't tell," policy is in place for the safety of the soldier. There are reports of gay soldiers being beaten, raped, and killed within the military and more often than not, they weren't open about it, it was found out or suspected.

  • But a linguist can be a translator.

  • According to Webster's...

    linguist: 1. a specialist in linguistics. 2. a person who is skilled in several  languages; polyglot.

  • Why did people give this comment the thumbs down? He's correct.

  • Translators aren't linguists.
