Nootka Island is off the coast of Vancouver Island. We were dropped off on the island by float-plane, hiked for 4 days along the coast, and then took a ferry back to Gold River. We saw bears, bald eagles, otters, wolves (well, their tracks in our camp). Some parts of the trail were quite steep, requiring ropes that are maintained by the local First Nation people who inhabit the island during the summer.
