Canta i vent'anni e al fresco tintinnire il piè muove a la Danza;
Brilla ne l'ombra dei suoi lunghi cigli un riso civettuolo;

The sweetest of songs are on Musette's lovely lips
Flowing as from a spring of a thousand fountains.
It sings of youth and coolness, moving as a foot to the dance;
Love's last rejoicing gives her new hope for another.
Men lie intoxicated in the shadow of her long eyelashes And flirtatious laughter. She circles with open claws,
While he, in vain, attempts flight!
He agrees, denies, then falls in love again as the heart Speaks: She desires neither charms nor gold, she adores
One treasure alone: Love!

  • Wow. That was excellent. And so nice that you chose to sing something a bit different.

    I've actually seen Leoncavallo's Boheme and think it has been unjustly neglected.
