Getting my Passport

Just after I got my passport in the mail, just one week after submitting my application, on July 15th. Generally it takes up to 10 business days to get a Canadian Passport, but I just had mine after 1 week. Not bad, I'd say. The lighting in this video wasn't as good as it perhaps would be because of closed curtains in the room to keep cool.

Thank you so much for the nice video, I'm happy to see that your passport arrived - feels almost like it happened to me! With Canadian passport you can have visa free access to many many countries. This is one of the best videos on youtube, with a wonderful music in the background! What countries did you visit with it?

@daylightflute Glad you liked my video. I used my passport to go to the United States for a visit. They now require Canadians to have a passport to get into the united states now.

It only took 7 days? Wow, that's quick. I'm currently in the process of filling out the required forms.. how much did it cost once all was said and done?

@BlazerMMA The passport cost $87, including all taxes. There was also the cost of teh photo. I had mine done at Walmart here in St. Catharines.

@hans1019 Thank you. What exactly about the photo? Do you just have to provide a recent picture of yourself with the application? (Signed by your guarantor?)

@BlazerMMA For your picture, you do need a recent passport photo from within the last year. YOu need to provide 2 of them, including one signed by the Guarantor. Mine was like $23 from Walmart. It has to be a specific size and Walmart dates the photos so it's done properly with proper background and pose.

btw, next time you can use a knife to open the envelope. It's quicker, cleaner and later you can use the envelope to store something in it (other documents, payed bills, etc.)
