Our $14 Backyard Army Fort

I built an army fort with my boys this morning. We used mostly scrap wood from a dilapidated fence at Cordova Neighborhood Church in Rancho Cordova (with permission of course) and some other leftover wood pieces from a construction project. I did have to buy $14.00 in 2x4s to help reinforce the roof to make things as sturdy as possible. I found all the branches in our yard as well as in a neighbor's yard.

I am a huge fan of making something "out of nothing". I like that we're making use of items that would otherwise go to a landfill. Additionally, there's also a redemptive theme to this type of building that strikes a chord with me.

anybody who hates on this guy is a bad person because this guy made this with his two sons and its theres to enjoy so dont hate on there fort i think its pretty cool to have a fort in there backyard and anybody who does hate, is just sad they dont have a fort

@heatherbyus Thanks. It's pretty easy to make a fort like this or use old wood to make something even smaller. I hope you guys can figure something out. These types of things can be great to create memories.
