I've stayed overnight on this ship twice with the Boy Scouts. We had fire watch both nights and this ship is as scary as all get out with all the lights off and everyone asleep! There are some points that cause lights and a narrator to come on over the speakers when you pass. Fourteen scouts nearly pissed their pants when that happened when we walked past the dental area. No way would we go anywhere near the engine room! Definately plays with your mind!
It is always a sad feeling with Naval Ships. So much death at sea during war. Well, war in general. But that added knowledge of potential drowning is terrifying for the crew. Then other things of burning alive, jumping overboard and not drowning, but left to the sea, sharks or whatever else.
As for the door opening, I am not sure of this one. And it's hard to believe because there is a mounted camera in there already.
that's why don't mess with the engine room....it's REALLY active there. sumtimes i get dizzy when entering
