Metal Gear Solid 3 - Duel - The Pain

This is my fight with The Pain. This is such an annoying fight, not as annoying as The End, but still annoying. The Pain has some of the most annoying attacks I've seen in a video game. He uses hornets to fight, and he also uses them as his armor. One thing you need to do to beat The Pain is get rid of his hornet armor, which you can do by tossing a grenade, or 3 shotgun shots. I didn't use grenades because in order to do that, your grenade needs to land on that rock that The Pain is standing on, which is a little hard to do for me, so I just stick to the shotgun. I don't think you can beat The Pain by taking out his stamina, because you don't have enough Mk22 ammo, or it could be that I just fail at aiming, but the fastest way to do it is to just take out his health, seeing as how you have more than enough firepower to do just that. As mentioned above, his attacks are very annoying, and really, it's like he seems hellbent on just being a minor inconvience than a deadly boss. He'll throw containers full of some kind of gas that attracts hornets, so if that hits you, you can do two things, you can dive in the water and swim around a little bit until it cleans off you, or get a little farther back from the rock you're on, and change your uniform, you need to get back from the rock while you do this because the gas might be floating on the water surrounding the rock, and you can still get some of it on you if you go into it. He'll also summon a great number of hornets to just swarm around on you, and while these hornets are on you, you can't move..but this doesn't matter, because they don't do any damage, and he doesn't take advantage of your temporary inability to move..but you're gonna want to avoid it to save time, so when it looks like the hornets are getting ready to move on you, just jump into the water, and they'll go away. When you shoot The Pain up enough, he'll start using a different attack, his bullet bees, which fly around and try to stick themselves in you, and if they do, you'll have to take a trip over to the survival viewer and get them out, but they are easy to avoid, just jump into the water and chill out underwater until they disappear. He has alot more attacks, but these are really the only ones you should worry about.

I love this fight it was very fun. Only the bee armour was annoying but that's easily remeded. I just love diving in the water.

It should be possible to capture his bullet bees with the baltic hornet's nest. You can get it either in Dolinovodno or in Bolshaya Past Crevice (Ocelot battle).

you actually can beat the pain by lowering his stamina. there's a rock with mk22 ammo on it. also, once you beat him by lowering his stamina, you can collect his cammo, which is very useful.
