Paul Nice to see a T-8 on youtube, but way does the T-8 receive more ambient noise than a yagi? How does a bandpass filter eliminate or attenuate ambient noise?

Yagis, with traps, have high Q's. LDPA's, without traps, are designed to receive and transmit somewhat equally within the frequency range of the antenna, thus, it also picks up all the ambient noise between these limits. The bandpass filter eliminates signals being received outside the intended band filter range and shakes off unwanted noise, (or RF), not intended to be received at the time. Go to general receive on a LDPA, turn on the filter, and dial around-you'll hear the sharp cut off-
