ESX AND REASON 4

An on-the-fly demo of combining MIDI control of Reason 4 with an external device such as KORG ESX-1.
The ESX tells Reason MIDI clock info via an E-MU 1x1 MIDI input. The O2 was the master keyboard and the keyboard triggered patterns on a Subtractor. I used the O2 to trigger channels on the Reason mixer, and also EQ parameters on another synth. Recorded on a BOSS Micro-BR.
**I apologize I didn't get much action in the shot. I was pulling for just the main gear in the frame.

Yea, this is great stuff. There aren't enough videos on YouTube of people showing how they set up these interesting MIDI arrangements. I'd love it if you did a video on how you actually set up everything. As it is, it is unclear what Reason is doing, and what the ESX is sequencing on it's own.

I own the ESX-1 and am interested in doing this very thing with it. A video would be fantastic!
