This isn't the good one - Watch Ghostbusted 3 (The Real Ghostbusted) first. And watch Ghostbusted 2 as well. The original Ghostbusted, which is this one, isn't as good, but it has its moments of pure comedy.
You can skip to 6 minutes 20 seconds - the Horsey Sauce scene is probably the first good scene in the movie. Part 2 has some good bits in it actually.
In 2001, I attempted to make a Ghostbusters movie. I failed.
As actors left and didn't take the movie seriously on any level, the shoot spiraled out of control into a ridiculous nonsensical mess.
This movie is that mess.
The results are more interesting than a "normal" movie would have been, due largely to amusing editing by Mike Stoklasa.
This is an improv piece shot on vacation at the Camp Rewind Film Festival in South Dakota, 2001.
All the "actors" are amateur filmmakers - directors and actors. They came from all across the country - a cast unlike any we'd assembled for a movie before.
Pity that movie had to be this one.
Lead actor Jason Santo just sort of walks off partway through the movie and is never heard from again - he didn't want to finish it! This was also true when he reprised his role 2 years later in Ghostbusted 3 - he just walked off and didn't finish!
Next year the series continued in Ghostbusted 2, which is even weirder and more nonsensical than this (and funnier I think) ... As people completely failed to take any of this seriously .....
The "story" of the Ghostbusted team was finally started and finished in Ghostbusted 3 - which was called The Real Ghostbusted since it finally had a story, and was about Ghostbusters - the movie I'd been trying to make all along.
Directed by Garrett Gilchrist.
Starring Mike Stoklasa, Jay Bauman, Jason Santo, Jon Ashby, Ryan Winford, Jeremy Gardner, Natalie Sanders, Christian Stella, Tony Stella, Garrett Gilchrist, Marc and Michael Linn, Adam Winston, Erin Arbogast, etc etc etc.
This is a really good independent film. I still think the third is the best though.
