Intense nerd discussions tend to get downvoted in the comments, so people learn to avoid taking part in them. I on the other hand rather enjoy these kinds of discussions, so I don't care what the spectators think. SPOILER: In The Fly II it took longer for Brundle's son to deteriorate, because the mess of fly DNA was only half as severe, due to growing up with the condition and the stabilising influence of his mother's DNA. During that time he worked on his father's invention, and found the cure.

I feel like I've seen the whole movie, they don't make trailers like to use.

oh right, but then he mutated into the fly anyway, because his dad was the fly? i saw the second one a really long time ago, anyway thanks for taking my questions seriously lol, intense nerd discussions are hard to come by these days

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it would work, because the Fly DNA wasn't spread evenly through his body. The machine likely wouldn't detect two distinct patterns, but billions that don't match its records. SPOILER: Interestingly, in The Fly II they solved this problem with a gene swapping program, that simply locks onto disorder instead of patterns, and replaces it.

isnt mutation just protein fusion in the DNA, if the machine deconstructs you on a subatomic level then it should be possible for it to identify two separate patterns of DNA and reconstruct two separate organism, especially since the machine should have the two separate forms stored in its memory from the first teleportation

My guess is it was too late to do that once his genes started mutating.

why didnt he just identify himself as two separate organisms and go through again, molecularly deconstructing himself/fly then having the computer reconstruct two separate organisms in the second pod?! why!? i want answers damnit!
