  • What was the prognosis of this horse? I have one with a similar gait and was wondering.

  • @wentersdesertsage We've tried Adequan, IRAP, massaging, "red light therapy", and plain rest. Surgery was also suggested but the vets said the prognosis was doubtful it would really improve her much. The most common suggested treatment was just pain killers if we knew ahead of time we would be exposing her to high level activity. The end result is she has been a pasture ornament for several years now where she has not gotten worse but hasn't really improved either.

  • my horse has the same problem i need to no how to cure it somebody plz tell me if u do i swear to Jesus i will give them 20$ dollars !!!! plz i need to no

  • @andersenacres If you're going the pain killer route have you tried Previcox? I have a horse with ring bone on it and know a lot of reiners use it & have seen great results. It's known best in canine form but lots of vets are now using it on horses (1/4 pill is all the horse dose is) I think it's still fairly new in the horse world but more vets are getting familiar with it depending where you are. Just another suggestion to throw out there. Might be worth asking your vet about if interested.

  • You should try Flexijoint and Devils Claw it was perfect to my horse with osteoartris =) You can buy it at Equimins.com

  • @andersenacres hey my mare has arthritis in her stifles, and we tried a steriod injection, which back fired, so now we're doing the irap, which does not seem to be working like it should (we've been treating her with irap since september) we also do injections of adequan, and was wondering what your thoughts were? my horse cannot handle doing more than 30mins of off/on trotting and drags her back legs often

  • try magnets...

  • Well he,s going well.He is standing he can eat. It isn,t keeping him down on the ground.
