Forced to give up his dreams of art school, Zach spends his days working a dead-end job and helping his needy sister care for her son. In his free time he surfs, draws and hangs out with his best friend, Gabe, who lives on the wealthy side of town. When Gabe's older brother, Shaun, returns home, he is drawn to Zach's selflessness and talent. Zach falls in love with Shaun while struggling to reconcile his own desires with the needs of his family.

"Shelter" is the most celebrated gay film this film festival season. It is being heralded by critics everywhere as the next landmark film in gay cinema.

I think Gabe is a really cool brother. He treats his brother's sexuality just like if he were straight, no difference. Later on in the film, he's also cool with his friend Zach. Nothing changes in their friendship. Cool character!!!

i love gabe, and how he can just joke about his brothers sexuality in that loving way that only siblings and bffs-that-are-like-sibs can manage. I loved this movie, but my only issue with it is IT NEEDS TO BE LONGERRR! :( It ends to soon :(

One other thing i know Brad Rowe who played as Shaun is not gay bcus hes married w/ a child. But Zack on the other hand w/ his trampstamp and all the other tattoos makes u wonder if he is..He supposedly dating some model or actress in rl but he looks more on a the feminine side then boyish/mannish... damn hes still cute though..I wish they are really gay n going out in rl lol what a awesome couple.

Its funny how Zack accidentally put on his bf Shaun's shirt when Gabe entered the house. I did that several time where i ended up w. more then my bf shirt but his underwear too lol..Shaun got some bunz bunz back there and a nice package deal too. Reminds me of my bf lol..yum yum
