  • Now my daddy and mom are dancin' the polka in Heaven with Frankie Yankovic playing...wonderful memories. (Daddy died two days ago; age 77. I will miss him so much!!)

  • He will always be the "Polka King". I've got videos and cd's of his music. I'm of Slovenian ancestry with grandparents on both sides, and my dad coming from there. I was raised on polka music and that was the first dance I learned. Holidays, weddings, communions, baptisms, etc. were all celebrated with polka music. Years ago, my mom and I seen him and the band playing at a picnic grove we use to attend and he was gracious enough to talk to us and he even kissed my hand!! He was a great person.

  • Love it!

  • You are completely wrong.

I have no problem with Weird Al (I like him, in fact).

However, Frank is absolutely not his dad. Check your facts more carefully.

All, this is a completely inaccurate post.

  • That's Weird Al Yankovic's Father. It hard to believe.

  • There will nver be another Frankie. I learned to dance to his music. My grandparents (both sides) and dad are from Slovenia. He even kissed my hand when I was a little girl at a picnic grove that he and the band where playing. What wonderful memories he, Little Wally, Roman Posedi and others brought into our lives. Sunday mornings we didn't wake up to an alarm clock....it was polkas on the radio blasting us out of bed. I still play polkas today and get a really good feeling from them.

  • My Mother and Baba would listen to Polkas. Great memories.

  • l first got acquained with Polkas when my brother in-law got me to listening. These are great and l enjoy Frankie Yankovic. I have most of his recordings.

  • This is a Waltz, eh?

  • Frank was the best and I miss him greatly. My greatest thrill was actually playing with him on the band stand in 1965. Imagine a kid at 16 playing with his idol. Frankie is playing the the big band in heaven.
