I flew my Cessna 140 from Santa Fe, NM to San Diego, Ca. This 600 nm flight took almost 12 hours. From St Johns to Scottsdale I had groundspeeds of 40-55 knots while cruising around 92 knots.

I landed in St Johns for fuel, Scottsdale, Blythe, and finally Montgomery field in San Diego.

I think I missed filming the takeoff at St Johns, fortunately though I left in time because there was about 40 kt winds from then on until I got into the Phoenix area.

The airplane is a 1946 Cessna 140 with an O-200A.

  • Nice vid. Nothing like a classic C140. Do you keep your plane at SAF? I've been flying out of SAF for the past year.

  • @914GAC thanks

  • What kind of equipment did you use to shoot video and how did you mount

    Great watching.

  • The camera is just a JVC Everio. It's mounted to a tripod thats kind of shoved halfassedly into my bags in the baggage area.

  • Did I tell you to stop?!
