Measure words: Daunting at first, but makes a lot of sense later on.

Words I Mentioned:
(T) 個 (S) 个 [ge]
Counts anything. Your safety net when you forget.
(T) 隻 (S) 只 [zhi1]
Counts animals (except cows and horses), even insects.
(T) 張 (S) 张 [zhang1]
Counts thin, sheet-like objects, or furniture.
(T) 支 (S) 支 [zhi1]
Counts long, slender objects.
(T) 根 (S) 根 [gen1]
Counts long, slender, thin objects.
(T) 座 (S) 座 [zuo4]
Counts large buildings.
