i would never claim to consider myself an authority on To Mega Therion, but i have read his biography 'do what thou wilt', and it definately gives an account of this recording that unequivocally states that yes, indeed it is him that recorded/sang this song. it also states he was quite fond of his voice. *shrugs*

Amazing as Always. The Beast is my Hero. how i wish i could have met him... well maybe there is still a chance one way or another :D

@koningkaas I'm quite familiar with the CD but this track was recorded in 1942 and it is not Crowley singing.

I have the Great Beast Speaks; the one with A-ning-ning-ning on the other disk.
I don't think either the singer or the piano player sounds professional to me. But the singer doesn't really sound like AC either.

Hommes de coeur, hommes de gloire, Hommes d'honneur, à la victorie! Tous, en avant! Bannière, avance! Haut, ferme, fort! Vive la France!
How was this recorded in 1920 when the song was written in 1942?

@offrampt This was recorded in 1942 and subsequently played on BBC. It isn't Crowley singing -- Crowley wrote it though. The music was arranged by Roy Leffingwell, with an unknown French baritone having been hired to sing.

The Great Beast Speaks (also known as 666) is a released CD of the only known recording of Aliester Crowley's voice. It is believed that the original recording was made around 1920 on a wax cylinder.[1] The audio quality is poor and at times it is hard to understand what he is saying. It came on a 2-disc set. It can be acquired through imports on online stores or through torrent sites as it is of public domain.

@koningkaas whilst another site says :
In late 1936 Aleister Crowley recorded a few tracks
Yet another says :
........., there are Crowley recordings which aren't featured on this album. Opinions vary on the year that this was recorded, but most experts agree that it was recorded circa 1920
And now i hear : 1942...
U can see why i am confused by this shit, and frankly, i dont really care.
