A taste of the unique, festive monologue event about the second universal language: FOOD and how our lives revolve around it!
Snippets seen here are from the most recent event in Shreveport, at Ernest's Orleans Restaurant & Lounge October 13, 2010, featuring "Meanwhile..." co-creator Peggy Sweeney (Superstar Events LA), emcee Tom Pace (Talk of the Town), State Representative Henry Burns, who also owns "The Wooden Spoon" bakery in Bossier City, Tina Marie Palmisano, Caddo-Bossier Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Sandy Davis.
From an article on the event on www.lsureveille.com:
"These monologues include stories about food - relationships around food, experiences in our lives that revolve around food, including love affairs, break-ups, careers....the highs and lows of our lives. The common thread is FOOD - an important part of our lives, our culture, and our personal stories.
The event is a little bit of theatre, a lot about cuisine and a
true celebration of how food is an important part of our lives.
Sweeny-McDonald first thought of the idea for the event after hearing a story from a friend about a Thanksgiving dinner mishap.
The story was so funny that Sweeny-McDonald insisted her friend share the story with other mutual friends. She noticed that when the story was shared it often prompted others to share stories, all centered on food."
