Three week intensive workshop in the village of Pengosekan (near UBUD) provides daily instruction on the seven tone gamelan semarandan, kecak, and other musical genres. Taught by Bali's most distinguished group- Cudamani, daily instruction is under the direction of Dewa Putu Berata. Supported by a host of assistant teachers, students really experience learning gamelan as an ensemble.next program July 2008- see www.cudamani.org for application information

  • Oh oh...think i got it...hujan mas???

  • Where exactly did u practise? Looks somehow like Dewa Berathas house. And what was the name of the piece(puspan jali?)? I forgot it, like I usually do. ^_^

I heard about the camp and i´d like to do it...but it´s sooo fuckin expensive! @_@

  • what a trip!!! Dan be PUNYAH!!!! LOL

  • I guess u where right.i have studied in Bali for 3 years(high school).even though i'm not a Balinese this really amazed me so much especially to learn the culture.

For example one day i asked my friend to see Balinese dance. They where surprised n laugh that in this modern life still have someone who watch those things..That makes me feels so Sad..I care so much about my Cultures..i missed them so bad..

  • That's true!!!!

I am a Balinese who really care about my culture. I feel really sad to see young Indonesian people who always wants to be modern and forgetting their rich culture. I believe that they don't really know what modern life is.

Luckily in Bali, most of young Balinese still care with their culture, like what we did in Cudamani and in many other places in Ubud, and Bali.

  • Not much of young Indonesian people care about their culture..this would be a salute from me to all of the foreigners who would like to spent their time on learnin our cultures..

  • Looks like a great learning environment; the students seem like their definitely getting the hang of it!

  • Not bad for the first day....bagus sekali

  • Udan Mas - nice!
