  • Well I just watched the video again and you are not measuring them right. I do not care if you have been a machinist for 50 years you still do not know how to measure a paintball. Realize this!! A paintball is not perfectly round there is a large area called the seam and a small area called the pole. These are paintball terms. If you rotate the ball on the seam all the way around you will find the actual size of the ball. I know what it takes to make a ball and how to measure it properly.

  • I will re run the test measuring across the seam, but I am also going to use my fixture for checking roundness along with it.

this was all fresh paint and there were defiantly

balls that were larger off the seam then on it

  • Where did you learn how to measure paint?? When measuring a paintball you measure it on the seam to find the largest part of the ball. You cannot just grab a ball and measure anywhere like you are!!!!!

  • I learned to Measure paint the same place I learned to measure everything else. in a Machine shop trade school. I assure you that I know how to check the diameter of a ball. I have been playing for 20 years and I have been a Machinist since 1995

  • very informative information.

where did you pick up the GI 50 cal paint?

  • I got the paint from a friend of a friend for testing purposes

  • They should create a new sport called "Rockball." Everyone shoots either rocks or Monster Ball. Everyone also dies.

  • you cant use monster ball in any kind of legit test of anything paintball related.

  • interesting...

  • I was not rying to be rude but!! I just wanted you to give each of the balls a fair shot in regards to size. If you take the ball and start measuring at the seam and slowly rotate the ball while adjusting your micrometer until the ball just falls through the jaws you will find the largest point of the ball. The pole of the ball is much easier, you just have to keep the ball straight as you pass it through your micrometer, when it just slides through you have your measurement.

  • I was just trying to correct your method and it is wrong. In order to get the true largest point on the ball you have to measure the seam all the way around until you find the largest point. Now unless the ball is blown the seam is usually 10 thousands larger than the pole.

  • it would be nice to see your data up on the screen as youtube annotations! thanks for doing that work!
