i'd live there in a heartbeat. Although I don't like the fact how they put it near another town. That must really suck for the people of Dorchester. Put it by itself would be better. Or take that village and put it in Corby or Skelmersdale. They really need some charachterful architecture with commercial.

Remarkable! Great, harmonious built environment: medieval-contemporary! Narrow streets, winding and varied widhts: uncomfortable for cars. Yet, hardly saw any people walking on the streets. When were the videos shot? Was it a time when everyone was out to work or school? Would love to see how people encounter the streets!

Overall, absolutely unique! One-of-kind community that mixes and mingles all kinds of uses all around! A great community in making!

I live in Dorchester too and think that Poundbury is beautiful. It is a very great shame that the rest of post war Dorchester and just about every other post war housing development looks like dreary crud in comparison.

Almost every one I know in Dorch likes Poundbury, I don't recognise any other of your criticisms either.

Oh... and for the wider world, just look at the number of people posting positive comments here, I think that says it all. Well done Prince Charles!

Prince Charles was called a Flake when he first spoke up about Globel Warming in the 70's and 80's. Now he's recieving awards left right and centre. He can't be right about everything, but he's been right about almost everything. For you to call him pointless and then misguided you'd have to be blind to the world round you.

Prince Charles is a flake - he espouses quack medicines like homeopathy for heavens sake! His answers to social, environmental and economical problems are well intentioned but desperately misguided. If you are a devotee then i can only pity you.

You don't see the point in The Princes Trust, the dangers of Globel warming, Creating buildings for people instead of architect's who will insist on modern designs and then spend there fee on a nice Tudor Mansion on the hills, Urban Renewal, Sustaining the Enviroment Etc.

I'd rather mis-Spell a word than fail to grasp the importince of the social, political and political issues shaping our future.

I live in Dorchester, and most people consider Poundbury to be an isore. Its like a ghost town. Plus, its part of Dorchester, yet they keep trying to call it avillage which it definetly isnt. The council tried to move a number of facilities out of main Dorchester to Poundbury, which is not central at all. People were outraged.

I work in one of the buildings featured and believe me - there are no people!!!! Just like being in "The Prisoner"!
