The Other 98% went into the Beck rally to ask what King's Dream meant to the Tea Party. I guess "Restoring Honor" might take a little more time...

This man's reaction is to a "Celebrate the Dream, Reject the Nightmare" banner that volunteers were carrying.

No one said anything to him to provoke him.

  • Interesting how every single time someone at a Beck rally or Palin rally acts like a jerk and gets put on YouTube, the right always protests that he's a plant.

  • I like the way the tea baggers claim to be christians.

  • I can't stand Glenn Beck or Fox News but this looks ridiculously fake.

    Fail.

  • great performance by the 98% man in black, Where is you patriotic colors that every one wore that day or you Restore Honor shirt. Dead giveaway that you are part of the 98%..

  • It's also interesting to see Faux New comb through 20,000 people from Occupy Wall Street (more than any Tea Bag fest) to find the worst dressed person they can, then put 4 seconds of him on video up with no audio (cause it's fair and balanced) then use the image to support their fabricated BS. Never mind the fact that the guy has two Masters degrees but can't afford rent and his student loans because "trickle down" has run America into the ditch. Sorry, didn't mean to dis the "job creators"

  • the fact that both republican and democrats push for trade agreemnets with third world country's indicates they are not much different than each other. how can the American worker compete with people that make next to nothing for their labor? the real issue is jobs! we need those jobs here in America! a global economy will be the thing that drives us to a one world government more than anything else.

  • @blandinthebasement , laws are only meant to protect people from certain things, that's all they're needed for.

Laws do not exist for moral or spiritual purposes. If you don'tunderstand that concept, then read my first sentence again.

  • @wvfii What religious institution isn't a political entity, if it's beliefs are meant to change hearts and minds to act out its' values? Religion and belief SHOULD shape our public policy, otherwise these laws are arbitrary and have no substance. Why should I apologize or explain why my faith has influenced how I vote, and how I serve in my community? If I have to apologize or abandon my faith due to the prejudices of others, that sounds like a blatant violation of the 1st amendment.

  • (I should also note that they were mostly cribbed from sociopathic evangelical "Christian" minister Bill Keller)

I should probably note that I'm a fairly fiscally conservative libertarian, and I don't want to come off as defending Obama. But I do the Right's rhetoric of late has become increasingly unhinged and divorced from reality. My opening salvos re Glenn Beck in this comments section were basically a parody of what Glenn Beck does every night. I have no qualms with Mormons (the Mormon church as a political entity on the other hand...)

  • @blandinthebasement

i would argue that what Obama (with whom I have SEVERE fiscal disagreements, btw) is a fairly pragmatic, left of center Democrat. These guys appear to appreciate the Canadian model of mixed economy, but outright "Socialism"? I don't think so. I urge you to search youtube for Larry O'Donnel's "We Are All Socialists!" rant. The degrees of difference between the Modern GOP and the Modern Democrats are negligible. The GOP just lies about it better.

  • @blandinthebasement

when did I call you an idiot? maybe you don't watch him, but that doesn't mean your argument doesn't smack of his odious attacks on "progressivism." and if you do watch him, are you seriously going to sit there and pretend that Glenn Beck (& Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter et al) hasn't spent the last 2+ years making unfounded, ludicrous claims about anyone who might be just to the left of Reagan??
