  • How do you get the ideas to power it? this looks like what I am doing but I don't know how to power

  • @lmarkfrot You need a 12V source like a battery or a 12V power supply. I used both a battery and an old power supply out of a PC so I could have some mobility with it. You can search Youtube and find instructional videos how to use a PC PSU. Good luck!

  • Could you give a list of the products used in this build? Maybe even prices too?

  • @c9901411. Other than the JVC head unit and 5-1/4" speakers I used a bunch of parts I had in my garage so I don't really have the pricing off the top of my head. I used (2) 12V sealed batteries that I had laying around from a fish finder, an old 500w PC power supply, a couple toggle switches, and a volt gauge. The cabinet is made of 3/8" oak plywood. Take your time and use your imagination. I'd like to see what you come up with. Good luck!

  • Hi, just wondering if you could send me the dimensions of the boombox you made.

    Many thanks

    james

  • @misty510

29" Long x 11" deep x 10" high. The inside is divided into 3 chambers. One chamber for each speaker and the other for the head unit, batteries, etc...

  • Nice job! And I take no offense to the guy who said this beats a plastic toolbox any day! I have some new boombox projects in the works, stay tuned...

  • Wow man!! Great Job!! It looks like you but a lot of time into it!! If your looking to improve, I would recommend just putting little gromits in the back where you drilled holes for the DC cable to add to the "Manufactured" look =)

  • nice rig man!! check mine out on my page

  • Nice - tops a plastic tool box any day
